“Egyptian Armed Forces Thwart Smuggling Operations and Protect National Security”

The Egyptian Armed Forces have successfully delivered “new blows to criminal elements and smugglers, foiling plans targeting Egypt’s national security.”

The spokesperson for the Egyptian Armed Forces, Colonel Gharib Abdel Hafez, announced that “border forces successfully thwarted plans targeting Egypt’s national security across all strategic directions.”

Border guards seized quantities of “hashish, bango, hydro, cocaine, and narcotic pills,” according to the statement.

The military spokesperson clarified that “these seizures were achieved through intensified security measures, inspections at crossings, tunnels, and various routes and axes, as well as conducting large-scale patrols and campaigns to search for and eliminate drug plantations in North, Central, and South Sinai.”

The Egyptian forces also confiscated various types of weapons and ammunition and foiled multiple attempts to mine for gold ore during raids and joint patrols.

Additionally, border guards succeeded in preventing illegal border crossings and migration attempts by individuals of various nationalities across the state’s strategic directions. They also seized quantities of goods evading customs duties following enhanced intelligence gathering and intensified raids and patrols on routes leading to the international borderlines.

The Egyptian Armed Forces stated, “The border guards continue their intensive efforts day and night to secure Egypt’s border crossings and terminals.”
